Trip to the highland of The Great River Bluffs State Park, Minnesota an hour away was originally planned for August 11 to 13, 2015 period during the Perseids meteor showers. Unfortunately, our plan didn't work out because the night sky was shrouded in low clouds during those nights. On the 14th, however, it was a sunny day and the sky cleared up to a perfect moonless dark night. We drove to the Park hoping to be lucky to catch a few trailing meteors. Well, we didn't see any meteor that night, but we were surprised to see Northern Lights suddenly popped up around 10:30 pm in the north eastern sky.
